I am an Irish poet, living in England, with relations from all parts of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland. The aim of this website is to wave the banner for poetry as an art form.

I spent many years as a much travelled financial systems specialist; now as a potential writer and poet I divide my time between Ireland, Spain and the UK.

I'm a "rookie poet" and over the course of time will describe the adventures or perhaps misadventures of an aspiring poet. I have written a small collection of poems called "From Small Beginnings - A stage in the poet's progress, which explores some of the practicalities of starting from scratch.

Over time I hope this website will act as a vehicle for popularising poetry in general with my own work making a useful contribution.

I may live England, but still feel that all the countries of these Isles are part of my hinterland. Their rich history provides a limitless source of subjects to write about from many points of view. So please expect politics, history, religion, destiny and sex to be dealt with using styles from whimsical verse to satirical performance poetry.
